The
Hamlet
Review
by Lucy Tania

The Hamlet is a staged production of the
Jocelyn Shopper novel Retirement Central - a story of theatre folk in
London's West End who band together in a run down part of the city.
The people, all ex actors and extras, console one another on their lack of
fame or recognition. Each has a story to tell of hardship,
deprivation, and squalor.
Central to the story is Lydia Louvelle, one
time show girl and bit-part actress. Lydia sets off on a mission to
bring these people together to support each other. But Lydia has an
ulterior motive and uses her new friends to seek revenge on Director, and
one time lover, Sidney Blackbean.
Rating: Utter Tripe
Now showing at the Wanadoo Theatre, Sickly-on-the-Coach,
Munch.
